I'm reading Tainted, by Julie Kenner. It helps when I'm writing to immerse myself in an author's totally authentic voice.
The first line of the book is:
"Can I just say that dying sucks?"
And it's sci-fi.
And it has a female protagonist - definitely Buffy-like.
My friends out there - you are in for some good reads when I lend you her books.
